At a time when JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik is desperate to meet his daughter (and wife), who have been denied visa on several occasions, another cross-LOC marriage is taking place in Chatter, Muzaffarabad.
This time around it is NC Rajay Sabah member Mohammad Shafi Uri’s son Yasir Shafi, an engineer, who reached Pakistan via Wagah, Amritsar on October 7 along with 20 baratis to marry one of his relatives on October 8.
In order to reach Muzaffarabad, which is at a two hours distance from Shafi Uri’s hometown Uri, it took Yasir and his small guest list three days to reach his bride groom’s house in Chatter. Giving the rising tension between neighbours India and Pakistan, Yasir and his father preferred to take de-tour to ensure a hassle free marriage ceremony.
Yasir will travel back to this part of divided Kashmir on October 10 along with his wife.
