The arrests followed information about the alleged transportation and possession of narcotic substances at Gangbugh in Srinagar, following which FIR No. 14/2026 was registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

An ANTF team led by the Investigating Officer was subsequently deployed to the area under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, ANTF Kashmir.

The two accused were identified as Vicky Kumar and Rajesh, both sons of Mithu Ram and residents of Matta Ward in Ferozepur, Punjab.

Officials said the search was conducted in the presence of a Magistrate as well as police and civil witnesses, during which 110 grams of heroin was allegedly recovered from the duo.

Both men have been arrested and further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the seized contraband and trace the forward and backward linkages of the alleged drug-trafficking network.

The ANTF Kashmir said it remains committed to dismantling networks involved in the illicit trafficking and distribution of narcotic drugs.
