Amid heavy pro-freedom, anti-India slogans, thousands turned up in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara – the hometown of chief minister Mufti Sayeed – to bid an adieu to the slain Hizb trio Tuesday morning.

The funeral of the three local youth killed yesterday in a brief gunfight in Ashmuqam area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district saw a massive participation on Tuesday morning with people jostling their way to have a last glimpse of the slain trio, whose bodies were placed in the local park nearby CM Mufti’s ancestral home in Baba Mohalla.

Earlier to mourn the dead, complete shutdown was observed in the town. Youth held massive protests amid fro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

The mourners were also addressed by Hurriyat (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani telephonically.

Blaming the government for the killing of the three youth, Geelani said, “Pro-India politicians were responsible for strengthening the Indian occupation on Kashmir.”
