The anti-PDD protesters were Saturday tear gassed in Kaloosa village of Bandipora district after they were protesting against the non-availability of electricity in their area.

Reports said that the protesters blocked Bandipora-Srinagar road hampering the vehicular movement.

Reports said that the power transformer of the village has developed a technical sang five days ago. “Despite repeated assurances from the officials that the transformer will be repaired, the transformer was not repaired,” they alleged.

As the protests didn’t retreat police swung into action and lathi-charged the protesters. Reports quoting eyewitnesses said that police also fired many tear smoke shells to disperse them.
