Dozens of residents of Kunzar, Batepora staged protest demonstration in the Press Enclave and alleged police of “high handedness” and “harassing” youth in the name of law and order. The protesters alleged that Kunzar Police called a local Bilal Ahmad Bhat and detained him under “fake” cases only because “Bilal is a religious youth”.
“SHO of Kunzar police station called Bilal son of Suna-ull-ah Bhat on March 31 and detained him,” raising anti police slogans the protesters said adding, “now we have been told that fake Bilal has been booked in some case.”
They alleged that 25 years young Bilal has been booked in fake cases only because he is a religious loving youth and leads prayers in his native village.
The protesters included women family members of Bilal alleged police of “terrorizing” youth before elections. They raised slogans against police and the government.
