The armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Reports said that Pakistani army resorted to firing in Balakot, Mendhar and Mankot sectors of Poonch.
Reports said that Indian army retaliated effectively and strongly.
The exchange of fire was going on when the last reports came in.
