SRINAGAR: An AK-47 rifle, grenades and an improvised explosive device (IED) were recovered during a joint search operation in the Manzseer area of Sopore in north Kashmir on Monday.
Quoting a senior police official, news agency KNO reported that the operation was conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Sopore in coordination with 52 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF 177 Battalion and CRPF 179 Battalion in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo.
“During the search operation, the forces recovered one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 72 rounds of ammunition, four hand grenades and one improvised explosive device from an abandoned house,” the officer said.
