SRINAGAR : The District Magistrate Ganderbal has advised people, particularly parents and guardians, to exercise utmost caution and prevent children from entering or bathing in Nallah Sindh and other water bodies across the district.
In a public advisory issued on Monday, the administration cautioned against the risks associated with bathing and swimming in rivers, streams and other water bodies, especially at unprotected and unsafe locations.
Parents and guardians have been asked to keep children under close supervision, particularly during holidays and leisure hours, and educate them about the dangers posed by deep, fast-flowing and unpredictable waters.
The advisory also urged parents to discourage children from swimming or bathing at unprotected locations and ensure that they do not venture near water bodies without responsible adult supervision.
The administration has also directed concerned authorities, including police, revenue officials and other departments, to take necessary measures and ensure wide publicity of the advisory.
The advisory was issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, on August 24.
