A slain militant’s brother was picked up from his residence in Lurgam Tral, area of district Pulwama, on Thursday night and allegedly thrashed by the army.

An official identified the slain militant’s brother as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, son of Lasi Mir, a resident of Lurgam Tral, a town in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.  Mir according to the family sources was picked by the army and taken to an army camp.

The family source alleged that when Mir came back he was seriously injured. Mir was later taken to the Srinagar hospital after his leg was fractured and had severe torture marks on his back.

Meanwhile, police has lodged a case in this regard. However, an army spokesperson refuted the allegations and said that they did not thrash anyone in the area,” he said.
