Army on Sunday apologized to people in Balakote area of this border district of Jammu for construction of a sentry post and bathrooms on a graveyard.

Official sources told GNS that higher officers of Bihar regiment along with local army’s company commander visited Soutlicheer area in Balakote near Line of Control (LoC) and apologized to people for the constructions.

“The matter has been resolved and army has vacated from the area,” Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, M H Malik told GNS.

As reportedly exclusively by GNS, scores of residents of Soutlicheer village staged anti-army demonstrations yesterday, soon after discovering soldiers of 15 Bihar Regiment raising construction of the sentry posts and bathrooms over the graveyard.
