The army on Tuesday cautioned more militant attacks in Kashmir, saying militants are desperate to infiltrate for carrying the attacks.
According to the KNS correspondent, Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC, Chinar Corps said that the army is fully prepared to face the situation.
Over the conduction of the state elections held during the four phases in Kashmir valley, Lt Gen Saha said that adequate security arrangements were put in place to ensure smooth polls.

After attending the ‘Vijay Diwas’, to commemorate the Indian Army’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, at Badami Bagh Cantonment, he travelled to participate in the Event at Naugam where a unique initiative was being undertaken by the Dagger Division by conducting a one if its kind Mega Medical Camp. The camp was held at Naugam (Block Kalamabad, District Kupwara) for the remote region of Mawar Valley comprising of approx 25 villages.

Speaking on the sidelines of the function, Lt Gen Subrata Saha told reporters that army is prepared to neutralize the militant groups which are hell bent to disrupt the peace in Kashmir valley. While commenting over the recent attacks at Mahura, Uri and other places, Lt Gen Saha said that the timely action of the security forces foiled the militant attempts.

He added that for the peaceful conduction of polls in Jammu and Kashmir, a comprehensive plan was adopted and the results were positive on ground.

However, the GOC said that militants would try to carry out more attacks in the coming days. He added that the large number of militants are waiting on the other side of the border to infiltrate but the forces are fully equipped and prepared to bring them down.

He said that army stands always for the well being of the people of the state and wants Jammu and Kashmir to witness peace and prosperity in the days ahead.
