SRINAGAR: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Kashmir on Friday. He came to review the situation after the Pahalgam attack earlier this week that left 26 people dead. Most of the victims were tourists, officials said.
Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Army commander of the Northern Command, was with him.
The Chief of Army Staff will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Top Army commanders will brief him on the steps taken after the attack, officials said.
The visit came less than a day after Pakistan fired small arms along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
