A militant hideout was busted on Wednesday in Handwara area of district Kupwara of North Kashmir, a defence statement said. “Rifle, pistol, radio set along with other war like stores was recovered,” it said.

“Based on specific intelligence input regarding a militant hideout in general area Tesrisar forest of Handwara, Kupwara a joint operation was launched by Army and JKP today,” the statement said.

During the search troops busted a militant hideout and recovered one AK 47 rifle along with two magazines, one 9 mm pistol, two Chinese hand grenade, three UBGL rounds, seven rounds of Pika ammunition, one radio set and other war like stores,” the statement added.
