Army Friday claimed to have killed a militant in a brief encounter in Jammu’s Mendhar area.
Reports said that a patrol of Bara Singha battalion came under attack 300 metres inside the LoC in Balakote sector of Mendhar early today.
“As our men came under attack, they retaliated and in the exchange of gunfire that lasted for several minutes one insurgent was killed,” an officer was quoted as having said.
As the gun fire stopped, a body was recovered during the search operation along with arms and ammunition.
