Indian Army personnel have gunned down an infiltrator in border region of Kashmir after the troops spotted a group of intruders at Keri sector of Rajouri district. The defense PRO at Jammu SN Acharya told media men.

The border guards recovered an AK-47 assault rifle from the deceased and search is underway to nab his companions. He added.

The Himalayan region is one of the world’s most militarized zones, with India deploying more than 1.3 million troops to quell the rebellion in Kasmir.

According to the defense sources, the troops of 16 Sikh Regiment during an operation killed an infiltrator at Chitti Bakri Keri area of the district Rajouri.
