Army Saturday claimed that it foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishnagati sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir.
A defence spokesperson said, based on the inputs of likely attempt of infiltration by militants waiting at the launch pads along the LoC in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, the troops deployed were put on high alert in Krishnagati forward area.
“At around 8:30 am our alert troops in KG Sector foiled an infiltration attempt by 3 to 4 militants.They were spotted 150 meters away from our forward post and were challenged. However, the inflitrators tried to close in on own post following which they were fired upon,” the spokesman said adding that the militants dispersed in the jungle and Army has launched a search operation to track down the militants.
