After ‘arduous’ training of 49 weeks, as many as 356 fresh recruits from Jammu and Kashmir were inducted into the Army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Regiment at a  passing out parade on Tuesday.

“Their passing-out parade was reviewed by Commandant, JAKLI Regimental Centre, and was attended by over 2,000 parents and relatives of the soldiers along with a number of civil and military dignitaries,” the spokesman said.

“The young soldiers of the regiment, hailing from all regions and religions of the state, took oath to serve the nation. Their ceremonial ardour and salute to the Tricolour and the playing of the national anthem inspired patriotic vigour in all those present,” he added. The Commandant congratulated the soldiers and impressed upon them to selflessly serve the nation.
