SRINAGAR: The Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) held a coordination conference at Chushul in eastern Ladakh on Tuesday to discuss border management and strengthen cooperation between the two forces.
The conference focused on jointness, coordination and cooperation to address border-related challenges and strengthen the security of the country’s frontiers, the Army said.
The Fire and Fury Corps, responsible for military operations in Ladakh, announced the meeting in a post on X, stating that the conference had brought the two forces together to discuss issues of mutual interest.
The ITBP operates high-altitude outposts in the strategically significant Chushul sector, guarding the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Pangong and Spanggur lakes under the Army’s operational control.
The interaction reaffirmed the commitment of the Army and the ITBP to maintaining close coordination and enhancing cooperation in the region.
