Accusing Army soldiers of killing his young son in cold blood, Muhammad Ismail Dar the father of slain youth of Nowbal Batapora Friday said that his son was innocent and was not a part of the protests. “My son was watching protests at a distance near Kharpora Bridge when Army soldiers directly fired a bullet which hit his heart,” he said.

Tariq Ahmed Bhat was killed in near Kharpora crossing after government forces allegedly resorted to firing to disperse the protesters who were attacking them with stones.

“My son was just 18. He was a labourer as I had no resources and income to send him to college,” Dar said adding that it was a cold blooded murder. “How can you shower bullets on those having tiny stones in their hands. Army fired upon protestors with an intent to kill,” he said and added that he doesn’t expect justice from the ‘killers’.
