An army man and a civilian were injured after militants attacked army camp at Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday night.

Official sources said that suspected militants opened fire upon army’s 50 RR camp at Kakapora.

While confirming the incident, SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudary told GNS that militants fired upon the army camp late this night.

The fire was retaliated by the army, leading to a brief shootout.

In the incident, a soldier and a civilian were injured, said Choudhary, adding that the civilian suffered a bullet injury.

Soon after the incident, the government forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers.
