An army man on Saturday committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Behibagh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Reports said that Abishekh Roy Kumar who worked as a wireless operator posted at 34 RR camp in Behibagh area of Kulgam last night shot himself with his service rifle.
Following the gunshot, the colleagues rushed towards the army man and found him in a pool of blood, they said.
An official while confirming the incident said that it was not immediately known why the soldier took the extreme step.
He said a case has been registered and further investigations has been started.
