SRINAGAR: An Army personnel who was injured following an accidental discharge from his service rifle at an Army camp in north Kashmir’s Handwara has succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Official sources stated that the soldier, identified as Jaideep (24), sustained a bullet injury after his service rifle went off accidentally at an Army camp in the Langate area.
They said the injured soldier was initially taken to GMC Handwara and later referred to 92 Base Hospital, Badami Bagh Cantonment, for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken, and further investigation has been initiated. (KNC)
