Army Saturday said that five militants died in the ongoing encounter in North Kashmir’s Kupwara.

Two brave personnel of the Indian Army were killed in an encounter in Kupwara District of Jammu & Kashmir today, Srinagar based defence spokesperson said.

The two army personnel were identified as Naik Shinde Shankar Chandrabhan and Gunner Sahadev Maruti More.

“As per latest inputs, five militants have been killed and operations are still in progress,” the spokesperson said. The army spokesperson told Kashmir Life that they also have recovered five bodies of militants.

When Kashmir Life contacted JKP spokesperson for their version of Kupwara ‘encounter’, he said, “we don’t have any information yet. Talk to army for the details.”
