Army shot dead one youth in North Kashmir’s Nutnussa area.

Reports and witnesses said that army opened fire when protests erupted in Nutnussa after Friday prayers today.

Five persons were injured and three were referred to Srinagar’s SKIMS.

The deceased has been identified as Arif Ahmad Dar (18) of Awoora Kupwara. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Three persons were earlier killed by forces in Handwara on last Tuesday and one more on Wednesday. Kashmir observed complete shutdown for last two days against the killings.

Separatists had called for protests after congregational prayers this Friday afternoon.

Protests had erupted in Handwara main town last Tuesday afternoon following allegations of molestation bid by an army man.

The death toll in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district rose to five in last four days.
