SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Monday directed both divisional administrations to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, scheduled for June 3 at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district.
Dulloo issued the instructions during a high-level meeting held to review preparations for the festival. The meeting was attended by senior officers from civil and police administration, including the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, Additional Chief Secretary Jal Shakti, Principal Secretary Home, and senior officials from departments including Tourism, Health, Transport, Urban Local Bodies, and Relief and Rehabilitation.
Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police from across districts also participated virtually.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure coordinated efforts for transport, accommodation, sanitation, water supply, uninterrupted power, medical aid and security for the devotees. He stressed on ensuring a satisfactory experience for pilgrims and called for assessment of facilities at the shrine and along the route.
Dulloo also reviewed road conditions, night stay arrangements, essential supplies, and sanitation measures. He instructed officials to maintain cleanliness in and around the temple premises and to ensure waste collection during the festival.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir briefed the meeting on transport and accommodation arrangements, traffic plans, medical support, and measures taken for uninterrupted services.
Departments including Housing and Urban Development, Rural Development, Health, Tourism and Transport informed the meeting about arrangements made for the festival. Designated nodal officers will oversee work from each department. Provisions for waterproof tents, cleanliness drives, and canal desiltation within the temple complex have also been made.
The Police Department assured full security arrangements for peaceful conduct of the festival.
