Arun Gupta Re-Elected as President of Jammu Chamber

   

JAMMU: In a closely contested election, Arun Gupta has been re-elected as the president of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) for the 2025–2027 term. The results were declared at the Chamber House on Saturday evening following a high-turnout polling process conducted under the supervision of the Election Committee led by Shiv Partap Gupta.

Arun Gupta secured 1,461 votes, defeating former president Rakesh Gupta, who garnered 1,290 votes. The election saw active participation from the trading and business community, reflecting strong interest in the leadership of one of the region’s most influential business bodies.

In the race for senior vice president, Anil Gupta emerged victorious with a convincing 1,603 votes, defeating Deepak Aggarwal, who polled 1,010. Rajeev Gupta (Kaka) won the post of junior vice president with a landslide 1,812 votes, overcoming Sunil Gupta (Kodha), who received 916.

Manish Gupta was elected as secretary general, securing 1,487 votes against Rahul Mahajan’s 1,226. The election for secretary, however, produced a surprise result — Rajesh Gupta (Rinku) defeated Ashu Gupta by polling 1,496 votes. Ashu, who had initially been reported as elected with 1,144 votes, was later confirmed to have lost after a final count.

In the contest for treasurer, Rajesh Gupta (Raju) secured 1,295 votes, defeating his nearest rival Manik Gupta, who managed 739 votes. Rajeev Langer trailed with 602 votes.

The biennial elections witnessed orderly voting and were hailed for their transparency. Members of the JCCI widely appreciated the Election Committee’s efforts, particularly the role of Shiv Partap Gupta, for conducting the elections in a smooth and impartial manner.
