The spymaster AS Dulat has blatantly termed PM Narendra Modi’s first year in office as a disappointment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who, according to him, “were expecting much”.

“Modi is not a Vajpayee,” Dulat said, while conversing with NC patron Farooq Abdullah and senior journalist Ashis Ray in London. The trio discussed key points in Dulat’s recent book, ‘Kashmir: The Vajpayee Years’.

Recalling his long association with JK, Dulat said he had “never seen anyone more reasonable on J&K than former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf”.

Zia and political wenditta by ML(N) rightest element in Pakistan and in India Vajpayee was also sincere but Indian Establishment was deadly against it.
