Senior resistance leader and life time colleagues, Syed Ali Geelani and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai continue to remain detained at their respective homes.
Hurriyat patriarch, Syed Ali Geelani, who is 87 years old, is chest patient besides other suffering from other ailments. Since he landed at Srinagar airport from New Delhi after winters, has been detained in his Hyderpora residence.
Doctors attending him have cited his continuous imprisonment for his “bad health condition”.
Geelani’s life time associate and deputy, Muhammad Ashraf Sehri, who is in his seventies, too is chest patient. Authorities have been intermittently, putting him under custody at his home at Baghat in uptown Srinagar.
Hurriyat sources said that he has not been allowed to move out of his home from last Thursday late evening. He was barred from offering mandatory Jumat-ul-Vida congregational prayers and was also stopped from attending Iftaar Milan hosted by JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik a day later on The Bund which was attended by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq besides others.
Since 2010, Geelani has been barred from offering mandatory annual prayers on Eid. This year again, he continues to be under house arrest along with his deputy as Eid-ul-Fitr remains two days away.
