SRINAGAR: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police died after suffering an electric shock in Jammu on Wednesday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Satbir Singh, son of Shamsair Singh, a resident of Chhatti Singhpora in Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. He was posted in Jammu at the time of the incident.
Officials said Satbir Singh had also served in Srinagar for nearly five years during his career in the police department.
His death has sparked widespread grief among colleagues, friends and members of the police fraternity, who described his demise as a significant loss to the department. (GNS)
