SRINAGAR

Legislative assembly speaker had to adjourn the house twice Wednesday amid noise when opposition PDP demanded to summon the former army chief VK Singh.

Earlier, just after the question hour ended the speaker informed the house that he is going to write a letter to Singh to clarify the allegations he had leveled against J&K ministers.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti opposed the decision saying that the matter has already been discussed and the house has unanimously passed a resolution about it so speaker should summon former army chief instead of writing to him.

The PDP members came into the well of the house and pressed for their demand.

BJP members however, opposed the summoning of VK Singh.

Law and Parliamentary affairs minister, Mir Saifullah was supportive to PDP when he too suggested summoning of VK Singh.
