SRINAGAR

J&K Assembly Speaker Mubarak Gul on Wednesday before adjourning the Srinagar session of the assembly sine die, decided to summon the former Army chief VK Singh for a clarification on his statements about State ministers.

The Speaker’s decision came on the last day of the Srinagar session of legislative assembly.

Earlier opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disrupted the proceedings after Gul announced that he would seek a written statement from Gen. Singh before any further action on the breach of privilege notice.

Speaker adjourned the business twice as the PDP MLAs refused to accept his decision of calling for a written explanation from Gen Singh. They shouted slogans to press for their demand to summon the former army chief for his statement on the floor of the House.

The legislative assembly was later adjourned sine die.
