Accusing former CM Omar Abdullah of resorting to theatrics, separatist turned unionist Sajad Gani Lone, a lawmaker from Handwara in northern part of Kashmir accused that opposition was on a score settling mission.

Terming the youth killed during 2016 as “Aazadi Ke Matwaale”, Lone, who holds the charge of Science and Technology in PDP-BJP coalition government, asked the assembly members to show some respect for the dead.

Responding to Omar’s remark “Can’t compare 2010 with 2016”, Lone said, “We cannot delink 2016 from 2010.”

Addressing to the members of National Conference lone said, “For every killing that takes place in Jammu and Kashmir, historically you have a role”.

He said that the protests in Kashmir are about aspirations and not about grievances.

He thanked BJP with Modi in particular for arranging passport for him and his kids. “May Allah bless Modi,” he said. The previous congress government denied me passport for past ten years.

He accused congress of bad human rights record. “Congress has a worse record of communal riots, corruption and human rights violations than BJP if we look right from 1947,” Lone said.

As Omar Abdullah termed coalition of PDP and BJP as unholy, Lone said that the alliance by different parties in the past too were unholy.

“My history is bad but their (opposition) is worse.” he said.

While speaking on the issue of pellet guns, he accused the opposition of introducing pellet guns in the state.

Omar Abdullah interrupted and reminded him that current government has the power to ban pellet guns.
