National Conference working President and former chief minister Omar Abdullah Thursday urged the government to pass a resolution to bring back pandits and others who left Kashmir due to turmoil.

While speaking in the Legislative Assembly Omar said, “We should all come together and pass a resolution so that Kashmiri pandits, sikhs and even muslims who left Kashmir due to the turmoil can be resettled and made to come back to their homes.”

“Today it has been 27 years since they left valley,” he said, “And we all should rise above politics and pass a resolution for their comeback.”

Meanwhile Speaker of the house appreciated the proposal and suggested government to consider the same.
