Srinagar: Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Mohammad Hanief Lone Thursday evening visited Raj Bagh, Mehjoor Nagar and other adjoining areas to take stock of the situation.
According to reports, Chief Engineer had on spot passed direction to make sure that nothing hinders the movement for smooth flow of water and also take measures to safeguard any breach.
The locals of the area told Kashmir Life that Chief Engineer had told his men to dismantle the newly constructed alternate bridge at Mehjoor Nagar, if it causes any hindrance in water movement leading to increase in pressure.
The reports from the area are that around a dozen employees have been deputed to guard the bund at the bridge location.
