A family from Khomina area of Hajin town of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Wednesday staged a protest accusing police of “inaction” in an attempt to murder case against the accused.
“During a scuffle over a land dispute, my brother Farooq Ahmed Bhat was attacked by goons while a man from Wani Family hit his head with an axe, resulting in serious injury. Bhat has been battling for life at SKIMS Soura. Even after the expiry of five day’s police station Hajin has not arrested the culprits,” the brother of the victim told CNS.
They appealed Inspector General of Police to look into the matter and direct concerned police station to initiate action against the culprits.
Additional SP Bandipora said that he will look into the matter while Station House Officer Hajin said an FIR has already been lodged against the accused. “The accused is on run and will be arrested shortly,” he said.
