Police and Army in a joint operation on Wednesday night rescued as many as 300 passengers stranded due to snow on Mughal road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, news gatherer UNI reported.

“Due to sudden snow, around 300 passengers were stranded near Peer Ki Gali on Mughal Road in Surankote due to sudden snowfall on Wednesday evening,” UNI quoted an official saying.”

They said Army, civil administration and police immediately swung into action and launched the rescue operation.

“In an overnight operation, all 300 stranded passengers were timely rescued and shifted to the safer destination,” they added, the report mentioned.
