SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee has strongly condemned the repeated imposition of curfew and restriction in Srinagar and locking down the Kashmir’s grand mosque to disallow the people to offer Friday congregation prayers. The spokesman said all these tactics have no justification and termed it as ultimate form of repression and political vendetta.

The spokesman said placing Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq under house arrest over and over again thereby barring him from carrying out political, social and religious activities is aimed to put Mirwaiz away from the people.

He said from over a decade history bears witness that the successive pro-Indian parties whenever in power adopted oppressive measures to weaken the popular sentiment of the people by committing grave human right violations besides bloodshed and use of pellet and bullet. The spokesman said the imposition of repeated curfew and restrictions in Old City Srinagar has drew its negative effects on the business community apart from ill effects on the Academic future of students due to the closure of Educational institutions.

The spokesman said the peace and stability in South Asia is not possible until and unless the Kashmir issue is not resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of its people.

The spokesman while paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Kashmir said these sacrifices rendered in the nook and corner of Valley will undoubtedly bear fruits.

He said the leadership will never cow-down to the oppressive tactics and will continue to fight till the movement of right to self determination reaches its logical conclusion.

The spokesman extended his sympathies with the Burma Muslims and appealed international community including United Nations, OIC to come forward to stop grave Human Rights Violation being committed on the Muslims of Burma.
