Awantipora police has solved a hit and run case by seizing the vehicle and arresting the accused driver within two days.
A minor girl Ainab Ashiq student of Satisar Public School Pampore daughter of Ashiq Hussain Shah resident of Tulbagh died after she was hit by an unknown vehicle at Tulbagh Pampore on 26th of this month. Subsequently a case under section 279-304A RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. The investigating officer succeeded in identifying the accused driver within two days. The accused driver identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Sheikh resident of Patal Bagh Pampore has been arrested. The vehicle he was driving was also seized. Further investigation in this regard is going on.
