In an apparent effort to gear up party cadres  for the next assembly elections Union Minister for health and Family Welfare and former Chief Minister, Gulam Nabi  Azad Sunday received several deputations who called on him at his Zeethaer residence.

Several workers and leaders of the Congress party went to meet Azad and held an exchange of ideas with them.

According to sources, Minister for Education Tara Chand also met Azad along with several congress workers and leaders.

Sources said, Azad asked Minister and leaders of the party to visit their respective constituencies and reach out to people to sort out their problems. He also asked the workers to gear up their efforts for developing contact with people with upcoming parliamentary and assembly elections in view.

A delegation from Ganderbal and various other delegations met the former Chief Minister. He exhorted upon all workers and leaders to put in their best effort for strengthening the party in the state.
