Asking officers to speed up the pace of construction work on the reconstruction of the Shrine of Dastgeer Sahib, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar has maintained that he wants to ensure that it get completed in all respects by next Urs.

The Minister was addressing officers during a high level meeting convened here today to review the status of completion of the reconstruction work being undertaken on the revered Shrine of Dastgeer Sahib (RA). Senior officers of JKPCC, R&B, PDD, Waqaf Board, PHE, INTACH, besides other line departments were present.

As per a statement Sagar has said that the government has already committed to the people to ensure the seedy completion of the shrine which is being revered by every section of the society. He said that the people have strong emotional and religious connections with it and our endeavour should be to complete it within the shortest possible time.

The Minister has also directed the officers to work in complete synergy to ensure that the lacunae, if any are removed so that the pace of work is speeded up. He has also said that care should also be taken to avoid any deviation from the plan already approved in consultation with the different architectural experts so that it is constructed on the earlier plan and design.

The meeting was told that the new mosque being constructed would be dedicated to the public during the ensuing month of Ramadan so that the devotees can perform their religious obligations.
