SRINAGAR: The Democratic Azad Party has expelled former deputy chief minister Tara Chand along with two other leaders from the party for acting against the party’s interests.

The move comes months after Chand had left the Congress to join Azad and was being seen as the party’s face in the Hindu heartland of the Jammu region.

“Chairman DAP Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad has expelled Shri Tara Chand, Dr Manohar Lal & Shri Balwan Singh, from the party with immediate effect for anti party activities,” an order issued by DAP General Secretary R S Chib reads.
