Union Minister for Health Ghulam Nabi Azad today kept the option of alliance open with the National conference and Peoples Democratic party by stating that Congress is emerging as a strong force in the State. He also said that people should wait for the Defense Inquiry into the alleged Secret fund scam till reality comes to fore.

According to a local news agency, KNS, while talking to reporters at a function here, Azad said, Congress has emerged as a strong force. After 2002, Congress has an open option whether to go with National Conference or Peoples Democratic Party. “Congress will, stay in power no matter NC or Congress would or not,” he said.

Talking about Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir for having attempted to topple the Government, Azad said, “When there are talks about JK, it’s not Omar’s government but there is a coalition of NC and Congress. If reports are true, it’s a very serious issue. Army headquarters has sent the report to Defense ministry, there is no denying the fact the issue is serious. Defense ministry is looking into it. This is a very sensitive issue. First, it is a defense issue as there are allegations against the former army chief. There will be careful investigation by the defense ministry.”

He added, “I hope defense ministry would reach some conclusion. This is not a common issue, but a serious issue.” Defense ministry has to look that these kind of issues should not happen again. These all allegations are in the form of allegations, but not proven yet. “Unless this is proved, no conclusion can be arrived at. Unfortunately, there is no institution in the country where there is no groupism,” he said.
