Government on Friday said that 34 spacious huts were vacated this year by top officials and bureaucrats at picturesque Cheshmashahi.

“The huts are available for booking by interested tourists/guests,” Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said in Lower House in reply to a written question by NC MLA from Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar.

These huts were used by top officials and bureaucrats of the state for residential purposes.

However, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is also Minister in-charge of Tourism and Estates departments- before closure of Durbar move, had decided against renting out cozy hutments to the Estates department.

On CM’s directions, the Estates department hired only 13 huts for accommodating bureaucrats and top cops. The huts are part of the JKTDC estates. (KNS)
