In order to “maintain law and order” in the district, a meeting of officers concerned and media persons was held in Bandipora with the Deputy Commissioner in chair.
During the meeting, discussions were held to take effective measures to curb rumour mongering which can vitiate peaceful atmosphere, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The Deputy Commissioner said that media has a vital role in making the people aware about the important issues and schemes.
He sought cooperation from the media to strengthen the initiatives of district administration in maintaining peaceful environment in the district.
He said that the news should be properly confirmed and verified before it is posting so that the law and order situation is not disturbed.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and ASP Bandipora also attended the meeting.
