SRINAGAR:: Unknown gunmen attacked a bank cash delivery van in Shopian district on Monday. Two of its guards were injured in the attack. They were evacuated to the hospital where doctors said they were brought dead
Details revealed that a vehicle carrying cash was on way from Shadimarg to Kellar branch of the J&K Bank when it was attacked by unknown persons resulting in the injuries of two guards who were guarding the van. the injured were identified as Tariq Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad. Tariq is a resident of Tumla Hal and Mushtaq is from Islamabad. They were working for a private security firm and were in their prime youth.

Sources said one of the slain guards, Tariq Ahmad, had purchased his own gun for Rs 80,000 recently, Owning a gun helps private security guards get a better wage package. He has two sisters and a younger brother.
J&K Bank sources said they have also received the report and are in the process of getting more details. Police said the injured were shifted to the hospital and are in serious condition. The van has skidded off the road in the attack.
“We revived two persons having multiple bullets but they were brought dead,” Dr Rasheed Parra, the District hospital Pulwama Superintended. “They have bullets all over, even their mobile phone has bullets.”
Army has cordoned off the area and searches are about to start, reports said.
