J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar strongly condemns the brutal act of firing, on the unarmed civilians at Nagbal, Frisal Kulgam, in which two civilians lost their lives and dozens others, sustained grievous bullet and pellet injuries and are battling for life in various hospitals of Islamabad and Srinagar.

While paying tribute to those slain, “the Bar Association maintains that killing and injuring of innocent unarmed civilians by use of bullets and pellets, is an unhuman and barbaric act and it should be condemned by all those, who believe in democracy and in respecting the human rights of the people and abhor the use of force, against them.”

The Bar Association in its statement reiterates , that “India and its stooges in Kashmir will achieve nothing by killing, injuring and maiming the people and that if India, genuinely believes that it is the biggest democracy of the World and it deserves to be made a permanent member of the Security Council on that count, it should shun its arrogance and rigidity and by showing regard and respect for the human rights of people of Kashmir.”

The statement adds that “India should take concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute, in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir and give them a chance of deciding about their future, in accordance with the Security Council Resolutions, which await implementation from 1948, so that peace and tranquility is established in the sub-continent.”

The Bar Association also appeals the peace loving people of the World to wake up from their slumber and put pressure on India for resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people, so that “the Indian policy of genocide in Kashmir is brought to an end.”

The Bar Association also supports the strike call given by the pro-freedom leadership for February 13, 2017 and requests all its members to abstain from court work on February 13, 2017, so as to show their solitary with those who sacrificed their lives at Nagbal Frasil Kulgam, for the sacred cause of freedom.
