SRINAGAR

Day after Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani expressed doubt over the Police claims of having killed Lashkar Commander Hilal Molvi in an encounter, Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association on Friday termed the killing as ‘doubtful’.

“The alleged claim of police that Hilal Molvi was killed in an encounter is rejected by the Bar Association and the same is not true,” Bar said in a statement to a local news agency, KNS on Friday.

“The circumstances indicate that Hilal was arrested and thereafter killed in the fake encounter. This is a routine of police and is a great human rights violation,” Claimed Bar.

According to KNS, The Bar Association has extended it solidarity and sympathy with the members of the bereaved family.

The Bar Association has also shown its concern for the injured Suhail Ahmad resident of Soura Srinagar who is presently in SKIMS Soura Srinagar and the police has used pellet gun without any provocation when he was peacefully going to his home on his motorcycle.

“The political leaders at the helm of affairs running the government has no honor and respect for the human rights, they run the government by suppressing the people on the might of police as such given free hand to the police and the security forces to kill anybody without any accountability. The government is not ready to listen the decent voice which is a fundamental right of every person and is enshrined in the constitution,” reads the Bar statement.

The Bar Association has also expressed its readiness to provide all legal assistance to injured Suhail Ahmad.
