According to an advisory issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, the Meteorological Department has predicted inclement weather across the region from July 19 to July 23.

The administration has particularly cautioned residents living in Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Uri, Boniyar, Shirpora Gavgrain, Chandoosa, Dandmoh, Hajibal, Shumluran, Kalantra, Rampur Rajpur, Shutiloo and Galibal Rafiyabad, besides those residing along the banks of rivers, streams and nallahs, to remain vigilant and avoid venturing into flooded areas.

The advisory warned people against attempting to cross inundated roads or waterlogged stretches, saying such areas could pose a serious threat to life and safety during the ongoing spell of adverse weather.

The district administration also advised travellers planning to visit Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Uri and Boniyar to verify the condition of roads before starting their journey and avoid entering vulnerable locations without confirming that routes are safe.

To ensure timely assistance during emergencies, the administration has activated the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) and appealed to the public to immediately report any weather-related incidents. Police Control Rooms in Baramulla and Sopore have also been kept on alert to assist residents in case of emergencies.

The advisory comes as several parts of Jammu and Kashmir continue to witness heavy rainfall, raising concerns over flash floods, landslides and disruption of road connectivity in vulnerable areas. Authorities have urged people to follow official advisories and avoid unnecessary movement until the weather improves.
