Shortly after Friday prayers, protests against beef ban rocked Kashmir University’s campus with students and scholars taking out a rally against the High Court decision.

Raising slogans, students said they will resist the order tooth and nail.

“No worldly court can ban what Allah permits,” students shouted while demanding that no such order should be implemented in state. The students pitched slogans in favour of freedom, Geelani and Pakistan.

Pertinently, a division bench of High Court Wednesday directed police to ensure ban on the sale of beef in state.

But the order created public outcry making separatist to condemn the order in unison. Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and others called for protest after Friday prayers and shutdown on Saturday.
