Srinagar

A complete shutdown is being observed in central Kashmir’s Beerwah town on Saturday, on the first death anniversary of local youth who was allegedly killed during an army firing last year.

Local sources said that all shops, business establishments, government and private offices are closed and traffic is off the roads.

The local youth identified as Tanveer Ahmed Wani, a tailor by profession, was killed on the same day last year when army personnel opened fire in Beerwah market.

According to locals, people of Beerwah and its adjoining areas are visiting the home of the slain to offer condolences.
